52 Weeks of Color Challenge – Champagne

Luna Jubilee’s 52 Weeks of Color Challenge is back!  Time for Part Deux!

And in true Chloe fashion, I’m already late.  It is week one and I am already late.  *sigh*  Oh well, better late than never.  Anyway…

So.  I’m working on getting my blog mojo back.  I’m making sure I keep up with the color weeks.  And I’m going to stop being so hard on myself.  Sometimes a pic is just a pic.  And I’m challenging myself.  I need to take more portraits.  I always take full body shots and I am so jealous of some other folks and their ability to take gorgeous portraits.  So that’s what I’m working on and how I came up with the framing for today’s shot.

I’ve been wanting to blog this dress in all its meshy goodness for a while now, but haven’t gotten around to it.  So here it is.  And I went with laziness and decided that its “champagne” label was good enough for this color week.  Now, I’d never say that it was champagne, but who am I to argue with Maitreya??  lol

The really great thing about taking pics at this distance?  Eyes!  I lovelovelove eyes in SL and while I always credit them, you can’t often see them easily.  When I look at this pic the first thing I see are these great aqua eyes from Agnes Finney‘s Twinkle Eye collection.  There’s a ton of variation in each color pack and they’re all lovely.

(Oh, and my GIMP skillz are getting better, too, no?  I’m a lot better with my touch-ups now.  At least I think I am.  lol)

Potpourri

Sooooo, friends and neighbors, I have a few things to tell you about.  Mostly unrelated items on the docket, but all important to me:

• Inventory loss
• Crotch flaps
• Back to Black
• Seven Deadlies
• Fresh Unknowns

First order of business is <insert crying and flailing here> bitching about Linden Labs eating all the *elymode* stuff in my inventory.  WTF?  I’ve heard about the mysterious invy disappearances, but never experienced it before.  Well, now I have.  I think about 4000 items went poof.  I haven’t figured out what else went, but all my *elymode* stuff that was purchased before… last month is gone.  So the sweet little group gift skirt was not accompanied by any coordinating items for today’s post.  Which leads us to our next item on the list.

Ely has made us more meshy goodness!  And this one really is good: mesh crotch flaps on short skirts!  It moves so well with your avatar and since she treats us so well, she left the tushie flap as a regular prim so we can edit it to fit our booties!

Next?  The Back to Black event.  Keira Seerose has taken CHIC Management back to their roots with this event that pays homage to the first mental health awareness event, The Black and Blue Fair.  Back to Black will run from 4pm SLT, February 11th to 4pm SLT, February 29th and features over a hundred brands as participants willing to work within the message and themes of the event and design an exclusive item.

And if you get tired of being good next month, the Festival of Sin will be there to cater to your darker, more debaucherous side.  Running from February 18th to March 3rd, you can find creations inspired by any of the seven deadly sins you’d like to indulge in.

And last for tonight, but not the least, we have the Fresh Unknown Hunt.  This idea is actually really fun.  All the participants in the hunt are new brands/creators/designers and their stores are all in their fledgling moments (less than four months old!).  So make sure you check out the new talent this March!

52 Weeks Of Color – Denim (or Holy Crap, She’s Back)

 

 

I’m only a month behind on Luna’s Color Challenge!  I know, I know, it’s pathetic, but what can I say?  I’m back.  I’m going to be catching up on a handful of things in the coming days, so forgive me if I seem a little disjointed.  I have to get through the last few colors (jade, mahogany, mauve and electric blue) of the challenge, give credit to some great review copies I’ve gotten lately and make myself a new blog header, getting to the Hair Fair – among other things!

So I went simple for Denim.  Jeans.  And that’s it.  Sooo sexy.  I think my opinion of this look goes all the way back to Cindy Crawford or some supermodel in a black and white tv ad in the ’90s.  lol

And Dark Mouse.  What  a great jewelry set!  I’m wearing some the goodies Mouse sent out for June, so yeah, I’m late on that too, but better late than never, right??  The Waves and Sun set is great for all summer, so go out and get it!

Whoever It Is, It’s J’s. And I Like It.

You know when something really excites you and you can’t wait to share it?  I feel that way right now.  I’m all sitting on my hands and bouncing up and down feeling pleased with myself.  No, this post isn’t really supposed to be about me, it’s another Pose Fair preview.  (Pose Fair 2011 starts today, btw.)

So, it’s about Hopscotch.  Some Hopscotch that makes me reeeeally happy.  The pose pack, It’s J, is split into two parts and has some fantastic poses in it.  Like I said, I don’t know who J is, but I am a fan.  You MUST get down to the Fair when it opens and pick them up.

This hair makes me really happy too.  It’s from a designer I’m not familiar with (which is not at all surprising), called Beautiful Dirty Rich.  In general, Chloe doesn’t wear long hair, so doing blog posts with something atypical like this really gives me kicks.  As for the rest of my outfit, it’s mostly old standbys- Jane and fri.day tanks- mixed with some new (to me) bargain finds- the lickable Tiny Bird boots I wore yesterday and the perfect jewelry set from League.

I like it.  It makes me happy.  That is all.

It’s Time For the Pose Fair, Little Ones!

I don’t have many details, as I didn’t get in on the blogger info, but I do know it’s going to run from April 1st to April 15th and of course, it’s going to be fabulous.

Luckily, I got my hands on some adorable poses and props from Hopscotch.  (Thanks, Chandni!)  This afternoon I took a look at her wonderful, springy, raised flower garden.

I put on my gardening clothes- a cozy shirt and my Decoy jeans- and dug right into the dirt.  Between that and a nice cool drink waiting inside the Awesome Blossom Bohemian Hideaway…  What could be better?

Purely Pretty

I was working on a new profile pic and decided to toss it up here to make sure that everyone knew about the Pure Juice event going on.  It’s a collaboration between CHIC Management and Juicy sims to bring some fun and fashion into our blah winter (almost spring?)  days.  The event features exclusive items from designers around the grid and will be open until March 26.  So head on over to the Pure JUICE venue, pick up some great new items and enter the Flickr photo contest!

I decided to share these raw shots from SL so you could see how gorgeous the Lara Hurley skin is.  I’ve never worn one of her skins before, but I’m absolutely in love.  I’m not a skin reviewer by any means and I’ll tell you honestly that I haven’t even gotten naked to check out the bits and pieces or anything.  But the skin and the lips and the features…  I just love it.  Of course, Aiko is wearing some lovely pink makeup to fit with the Juicy theme, but the lashes aren’t her’s, they’re from Cheap Makeup.  I’m also wearing the Endless Glam Ensemble from Mood, which comes with a great HUD to change the colors (all pinks, of course) of the rings and the metals on the earrings and bracelet.

Purely Ecru

We’ve got a twofer this week!  I’m covering both the 52 Weeks of Color Challenge and the upcoming Pure Juice event, brought to you by CHIC Management and the Juicy sims.  Two birds with one stone, right??

Before the pic, I’ll tell you a little bit more about the event and the featured items.  Pure Juice is a fashion event featuring well-known creators and some hidden gems that have that Juicy flair.  All items are exclusive for the event running from March 5 – March 26.

Ecru might not seem very juicy to you, and this sweet little La Estrella dress may be the last thing I blog from the event that isn’t pink, but it was the perfect way to combine my posts (and I’m lazy, so it worked out well for me).  Now, I’m not the best at manipulating prims, and I don’t have a skinny-minnie avvie, so I had some trouble with getting the best fit, although I SO appreciated the belt and skirt being separate.  The prims are also a little darker than the rest of the dress, but it wasn’t nearly as noticeable on the grey and black versions.  Overall, I think it’s a really cute dress and I love the design of the skirt, so I’ll definitely be wearing the black one in the future.  A girl can’t have too many LBDs, right?  And it’s still winter, I needed a wool one.  Really.  I did.
