I’ve been playing with shadow settings in Firestorm lately. And windlight settings. And projector settings. And local lights settings. And and and. AND I keep getting… lackluster results. Anyway, I’ll keep playing. And you’ll keep being subjected to my attempts and brilliance. (Ha! Funneh, I know!)
But speaking of brilliant… Ely Eilde has been playing with mesh. Which makes me happy in my pants. This sweater dress has been out for a little while now, but I hadn’t had a chance to take a pic of it yet. I have NO idea how I ended up with a shot from behind, but… that’s what we’ve got.
So, it just so happens that people miss my blog. Or so I’m told. And since someone I care about suggested that I get back at it… Here I am. I am horrified to realize that Luna’s 52 Weeks of Color challenge is in week fifty while I’m stuck back in week… pfft… who knows. I am embarrassed to have been missing hunts and challenges and generous designers as I lost myself in a bit of a stabbity place. So in the spirit of stabbitiness (unsure) I put together a wicked, angry, fierce little Halloween-esque look that got its inspiration from a fantastic set of eyes by Aymeric Pelazzi of Fleur Du Mâle. Aymeric has a whole line of Alive eyes, which he brings to life by adding prim lights to system eyes. I popped in the poison colored Drake eyes and totally fell in love with their demonic, inhuman quality and the amazing vivid coloring. I am now in need of some FDM human eyes to wear on a regular basis!
I pulled out some other well loved items from my inventory: Vita’s Irena hair… lovelovelove. SO much fun to photograph. Ely’s witchy tattoo tint is perfectly done, delivering pretty-ugly flawlessly. My Gos Curvaceous boots, which are still oh so lick-worthy. The Memory Wire necklace from the Platinum Hunt (2010!) finally gets to come out and play for a post. Jux makes sure my body language (please picture Ursula’s hip shake in the Little Mermaid here) says just as much as the rest of me. And a new love, my Rue horns, get to make an appearance too.

Heyheyhey, lookie who’s back in less than a week with a new post! And it’s a Look of the Day, no less. I’ve never done one of these before! I’m usually soooo driven by an event or challenge or sale or whatever that I never have the opportunity or desire to do a “just because” post. Anyhow, I was going to do a shiny-sexy-alien-takeover something, but I wanted to get this out this afternoon, so I scrapped it. It was the fun little sleeves and the shading on the ViLada dresses that took me to space, so I popped on some metallic eyeshadow from a.e.meth and my platinum Gos booties to go with the flow.

Anyway, I really enjoyed these dresses from Riddle. Simple and sexy. A bit of pink thrown in for that little juicy something. (And I got to play with all the color options on my Gos Curvaceous boots.) The Rockberry skin is too sweet as well, featuring Kalista’s Juicy Pink lips for the event.

I had so much fun putting together this week’s look. I played around with a couple of options, trying on formal or party outfits, but I settled on something comfy. Again. Hmm… I guess I’ve needed comfort lately. Anyway, I also gave in to the natural inclination to do a Valentine’s Day theme. So I’m showing off my sweet little peacoat from Bellies (a new-to-me shop I found at the I <3 Originals Fair) and my Curvaceous boots that I haven’t taken off since I bought them. I’m also taking advantage of a slightly modified adorable pose and prop by aDORKable Poses.
Mmmmmmm, black. I flipped through the Flickr group a little bit and noticed that a lot of people are doing something theatrical and dark this week. Blame it on Black Swan, maybe, I don’t know. But for me, black is my color. Black is comfort. Black is safe. Black is neutral, non-judgmental, constant… Black is not a dramatic or fearful color for me. Black is me. It makes me feel safe and warm, not menaced and alone and mentally unstable (another Black Swan reference, sorry). So for this week I wore a super soft tank from Jane and my Decoy jeans with the gorgeous, sexy, fantastic new Curvaceous boots from Gos. *droolpantlickfaint*
I ended up finding myself at rainy Innsmouth, which added another level of contentment to the night. There’s something about the clouds and raindrops that make the world smaller, less intimidating. So despite the ruined town, the sea and the rain left me in a somber yet comforted mood.
