52 Weeks of Color, Part Deux – Aquamarine

I had to invite a very special av over for this color of the challenge.  This is her blog debut and she was a little nervous about showing her face in public, but the lovely Beryl Button made for a wonderful model.  (Get it?  They go together because aquamarine is the blue-green version of beryl?  Anyway, that IS how she ended up choosing her name – after deciding that Aquamarine was a bit… flamboyant.)  And don’t ask what they’re doing in the kitchen, Chloe just needed a place to sit so I could use the Exposeur pose I picked up at the 50/50 sale.  Make sure you get over there, the 50L or 50% off sale goes for just two more days.

Of course, RezIpsa Loc came to my rescue for this color by offering a sweet little bodysuit with the sophisticated touch of houndstooth accents.  Just about everything Chloe has on are her old standbys, but Beryl is wearing some new (to me) brands that had some too-good-to-be-true deals on the marketplace.  She’s supposed to be wearing a tank from Petticoat Lane (from Glitterati’s Katey Coppola), but it was taking its sweet time to be delivered.  The Simplestuff pumps were 25L and the jeans from Pd were 10L.  Crazy, huh?  *crosses my fingers and mumbles pleasedon’tbecopybotted pleasedon’tbecopybotted pleasedon’tbecopybotted*

52 Weeks Of Color – Denim (or Holy Crap, She’s Back)

 

 

I’m only a month behind on Luna’s Color Challenge!  I know, I know, it’s pathetic, but what can I say?  I’m back.  I’m going to be catching up on a handful of things in the coming days, so forgive me if I seem a little disjointed.  I have to get through the last few colors (jade, mahogany, mauve and electric blue) of the challenge, give credit to some great review copies I’ve gotten lately and make myself a new blog header, getting to the Hair Fair – among other things!

So I went simple for Denim.  Jeans.  And that’s it.  Sooo sexy.  I think my opinion of this look goes all the way back to Cindy Crawford or some supermodel in a black and white tv ad in the ’90s.  lol

And Dark Mouse.  What  a great jewelry set!  I’m wearing some the goodies Mouse sent out for June, so yeah, I’m late on that too, but better late than never, right??  The Waves and Sun set is great for all summer, so go out and get it!

Elymode @ Culture Shock

Here’s what’s truly shocking:  Culture Shock is still going on!  If (somehow) you haven’t heard, Culture Shock is a collaborative effort between CHIC Management, Modavia Productions and more than 150 designers benefiting Médecins Sans Frontières, or Doctors Without Borders.  Keep your eyes open for the exclusive Culture Shock items at each store, 50% – 100% of the profits for those items will be donated to the docs.

The donation item I’m wearing is the new Vita dress from Elymode.  Elysium Eilde stepped out of her comfort zone on this one and it was well worth it.  The prim portions of the dress were easily resized and adjusted (even for me) and they make for incredible details on Ely’s already amazing work.  I ended up channeling a little of Ely through the dress and her Windlight settings and I took a lovely, unedited shot in SL.  (No, that’s not an insult, the pic just feels a little…  fantasy and pretty to me.)

I’m still fighting with shadows, so unfortunately you all have to deal with me experimenting and bitching about the failed trials.  I hate this glaring light that I can’t seem to get rid of.  I hate that I had to reduce the size of my inworld snapshots so I don’t get crazy lines all over.  I hate that my shadows used to work flawlessly and now they don’t!  LOL   Anyway…   There is some more Elymode in this pic, a Vita variation and part of the Lazy Day gacha items she has at the store for only 50L.  This is a group exclusive color, but the others are equally adorable.

The sexy and extravagant Butterfly Gown from Vero Modero was the only option for this week’s color challenge.  I’m not really a formal kind of girl, so it’s fun and different to dress up in something feathery and flowy every now and again.

Sienna turned out to be another toughie.  I had a hard time finding things in my inventory that had the reddish hue I was looking for.  But I am wearing a gorgeous skin from !imabee that put me in a sienna mood.  Brandon Papp was generous enough put this skin out for the With Love From… Hunt and I absolutely love it.  I don’t usually wear skins this dark, but I’ll definitely keep this on for a few days.  And you can’t really see it, but I’m actually wearing a great dress from Glam Affair that i received as part of my Secret Santa gift.  Thanks again, Santa!  MWAH!

The post for this week is a bit simple, the hustle and bustle of the holiday have kept me away from the computer and this is a bit of a rush job.  That’s unfortunate, because my green outfit comes from a spectacular creator and she deserves a better pic, editing and post than this.  I’ll do something more fitting in the near future, but for today, here is an oldie but goodie from *elymode*.

I absolutely love Ely’s textures and details.  You can tell she puts her heart into her work and it comes through in the form of denim textures that you want to run your fingers over to feel that well-loved softness, the minute details in the tie at the hip and the sexy, well thought out design of this outfit.

I GIMPed!

Well kids, you’re in trouble now.  I’ve started playing with photo editing.  (Which, btw, I cannot say out loud without slurring.)  I have put together a little cloning photo for your viewing enjoyment.  I “celebrated” my rezday yesterday with a new friend, Envi Teardrop, who was trusting enough to share “Envi’s Secret Spot” with me.  We did some exploring on this gorgeous sim and were chatting when I realized it was my rezday.  He surprised me with wonderful companionship (no, that wasn’t really a surprise) and a couple little gifties.  So, I’ll dedicate this post to Envi.  Thanks for a great rezday surprise, hon!
